My friend Lindsay Ames and I sold a web series to MTV Clutch. Here’s the first episode.
It’s under 30 sec’s sooooo how about a lookie, eh?
Nathan Barnatt is one of the most prolific people I have ever met. Will you just watch this already? The shot at 3:45 is worth it alone.
My friends made a sketch and half my face makes an appearance in it. If you watch the whole thing, I have it on good word that my entire face might just make an appearance.
Sincerely,
Ron “Reactions” Babcock
PS - They have a really amazing video of them dancing shirtless in an Abercrombie & Fitch here that you should really watch.
NASCAR’S PACE CAR VS. ‘99 HONDA CRV
I made this video awhile back for the now-defunct Asylum.com. We went to a NASCAR race to shoot it, but in the end NASCAR wouldn’t sign off on it. Something about how we weren’t allowed to show any of the track - I can’t remember exactly but they were really annoying about it. I guess someone decided to upload it anyway, so have a look before it inevitably gets taken down.
A STAND UP GUY
I was in a short film this year based on a true story of a homeless comedian that went to a few festivals. Because when people think homeless, they think Babcock. The director Sarah Rose Bergman just uploaded it for your viewing pleasure.
It’s very pretty and professional looking. I was flattered they asked me to do the act ‘em up’s in it.
YMCA CAMP WHITTLE “THE SEVEN PILLARS” CAMP VIDEO
Last week I was a camp counselor for this YMCA camp in Big Bear. I was in the Media Unit, so my job was to edit together the camp video. Because of the fantastic Media Unit campers, the wonderful Julia Prescott and the indomitable Stephen Wallace - we actually finished it.
PUNCHLINE MAGAZINE: INTERVIEW WITH NATASHA LEGGERO
Interview I did for Punchline Magazine this week to promote her Comedy Central Presents on March 25.
THE DINO BIT
This is one of my favorite bits to do. It involves a children’s creationist book. It’s probably my only bit that “says something.” Feel free to watch it to see what something is said. I had an older version of it online from the San Francisco Punchline, but it was right when I started doing the bit so it wasn’t as polished. This version was taped at the Whiplash show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC.
